Become a Community Coach
Change a Life.
What is a Community Coach?
A community coach is a mentor who helps guide a formerly incarcerated individual through the process of reintegration. The coach would complete a brief training and wait to be assigned to a justice-involved individual who is newly released from prison or jail. These individuals usually come back to the community with little to no resources and recidivism is high. As a community coach, you can help offer someone a second chance while making your community a stronger and safer place to live.  To learn more, contact Randi Norton at randinorton@careaz.org.

Additional Information:
The Community Coach Mentorship Program, has proven to be tremendously successful in recidivism reduction for individuals who complete the program (90% of those who complete the program do not return to jail). This reentry program is being implemented in several other counties across the state. Through an application process, participants are placed with a trained volunteer community coach.

Participants and coaches are matched based on information and preferences gathered during the application process. The Community Coach provides participants with the opportunity to set and achieve goals through an integrated support system. This may include, but is not limited to, overcoming obstacles such as transportation, support services and employment upon release. This system also provides access to resource referrals through Live Free Re-entry’s parent organization, CAREaz.
